I chose to complete the FSF Case Study competition as my final project for CADS 5500: Merchandising Portfolio. I worked consistently on the research, refinement, and completion of this project from May through October of 2018. The prompt for this case study was to explore opportunities for a fashion company to expand in the global market. I selected New York based retailer Opening Ceremony for my project focus, and discussed how they would benefit from expanding internationally to Seoul, South Korea. This case study includes a discussion of other retailers who have successfully expanded internationally, an omni-channel launch plan for Opening Ceremony, a marketing campaign, and a 6 month financial plan. I thoroughly enjoyed completing this project and learning in depth about the international retail landscape and strategic business development for brands in the fashion industry.
I was one of a select group of students to become a YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund Recipient in 2019 for this case study. I was honored to attended the Awards Gala in January 2019 in NYC, and meet FSF Alumni from across the country. A PDF of my case study is available to view below:
